Whilst Mother's Day is a significant date in Western culture, it’s an even more intense and special occasion in Thailand. Although celebrated on the Queen's birthday in August, we thought it important to give a nod to our sister culture’s celebration of the day.
On Mother’s Day in Thailand, you would find public festivities such as parades and ceremonies, private family get-togethers and intimate outpourings of emotion between mother and child. As in the West, it's common to take the mother out for a special meal to celebrate, traditionally gifting her with bunches of white jasmines – the symbol of purity, gentleness and a significant Thai symbol for Motherhood.
This Mother's Day celebrate your mum, the mother of your children, or the motherly figure in your life with us at Koh and we will provide her with a flower and a glass of prosecco on us.
Find your local Koh and give your mum a treat.
